The Aesculap Academy education portfolio and global centres have been awarded global accreditation by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) for three years until March 2026.
In the past, Aesculap Academies were accredited in only four countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom (UK). The global accreditation, now in 43 countries, is an award of excellence from the RCS England that recognises the outstanding surgery-related education provided by the Aesculap Academy around the world. The Royal College of Surgeons of England provides world-class education, assessment and development for any surgical training run in the UK and globally.
The accreditation process is a review of the entire surgical education centre. This includes assessment of facilities, resources, faculty and the education portfolio; as well as the quality management processes which underpin the delivery of the centre’s educational product. RCS England centre accreditation is only awarded where there is a clear demonstration of the quality of each of these components. Accreditation gives the centre a degree of autonomy in amending its course portfolio. The introduction of new courses during the accreditation period is subject to RCS England approval.
“We are honored and very proud that the Royal College of Surgeons of England has recognized the Aesculap Academy for the quality of our training not only in several countries, but globally.”
"We aspire to offer a stimulating environment for developing knowledge and a teaching methodology adapted to real life." stated Dr. Gabriela Soskuty. "The global accreditation is a promise to our course participants that the quality of our work undergoes a rigorous external audit.”
Maintaining the high-quality standard of the Aesculap Academy training to support the future of excellence in medical care worldwide is a challenging task, as many aspects of learning are undergoing major changes, explained Jana Nothhelfer, Head of Business Development Aesculap Academy. "A sound foundation and a strong partner are critical for success and we are grateful for the internationally recognized hallmark of quality of the RCS England. This is a great incentive for continuous improvement of our standards in all trainings we offer.”
“We are so pleased to extend our accreditation with Aesculap Academy, who continue to provide world-class surgical education globally. The RCS England recognise that Aesculap Academy courses offer a stimulating environment for developing knowledge and hope that this relationship will help to advance surgical standards and ultimately surgical care.”
The Aesculap Academy was founded in 1995 in Germany to establish a forum for communication in medicine. In the meantime, it has developed into a global network offering a wide range of training courses and seminars around the world for medical doctors, nursing staff in hospitals and private practices and the hospital management.
