A stoma means an enormous change in everyday life for those affected. Sergio Lacasa, an engineer at B. Braun in France, has been developing innovative ostomy care systems that offer safety and quality of life for 20 years. He and his team are working on skin-friendly adhesives, odor-proof filters and individually adaptable pouches—so that patients can continue their lives without worry.

People who need artificial nutrition are often dependent on individual nutrient mixtures. Sharon Durfee has developed a training program for pharmacists for the B. Braun subsidiary CAPS in the United States. Tanja Gorzel mixes solutions in the clean room for PNS in Melsungen every day.
B. Braun employees like her ensure that patients are supplied with liquid nutrition solutions every day.
To protect the health of people whose kidneys no longer work, we not only develop and produce dialysis machines. B. Braun also operates dialysis centers—worldwide. In one of the centers in Manila, Bernadette Libunao, the head nurse, makes sure that patients feel as if they are visiting their family during every treatment.
